Queen Creek Launches Experience QC Mobile App

Queen Creek Launches Experience QC Mobile App

September 28, 2015

Mobile appThe Town of Queen Creek recently released the new, free Experience QC mobile application, designed for both residents and visitors to quickly find all of the attractions, events and services in the community. The mobile app was developed by Purple Forge, an award-winning provider of mobile apps to municipalities and governments in the U.S. and Canada.

“This convenient application makes it easy for residents and visitors to find out what’s happening in the Queen Creek community,” said Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney. “The app showcases a whole range of interactive services, maps and calendars highlighting the shopping, dining, and recreational opportunities here in our great Town.”

Available free of charge in the Google Play App store and iTunes, the app includes an interactive postcard feature that allows users to design their own personalized mobile message for sharing their QC experience with their friends over social media. Additional features include easy access to Town news and events, a shop local business directory that classifies information into easy to find categories, and the ability to receive emergency notifications.

“Queen Creek has a young and tech-savvy population who are actively engaged on our various social media platforms,” commented Communications, Marketing, and Recreation Director Marnie Schubert. “More than 40 percent of our website traffic comes from a mobile phone or tablet, so mobile applications are another great way for the Town to connect with our residents.”

The mobile app also serves as a portal to useful resident data services provided by the Town, including interactive maps linked to the most popular parks and recreation information.

“The Experience QC app will form the mobile foundation for the Town of Queen Creek to expand on its digital engagement strategy,” stated John Craig, VP Sales and Marketing of Purple Forge. “Embracing social, local and now mobile engagement will help to increase access to the Town’s services, while reducing the costs traditionally associated with promoting the economic and tourism related businesses within their jurisdiction.”

Purple Forge is an award winning Software as a Service (SaaS) provider of mobile-first community engagement and self-service solutions. Customers include: governments, venue operators, telecommunications service providers, financial institutions, healthcare institutions and membership-based organizations. Purple Forge’s platform and smart connected apps offer a comprehensive set of features that span the Web, mobile, wearables, social, cognitive computing and the Internet of Things. The Town also offers the GoRequest mobile app which operates in conjunction with the Town’s website. GoRequest allows residents to report potholes, graffiti and other concerns using GPS-based location tools, and the services requests are forwarded directly to the appropriate staff member. The GoRequest app also provides answers to frequently asked questions under the Knowledge Base section.
