Google Play Innovative Approaches to Artwork
The traditional approach to providing artwork for the Google Play store for an app is to provide screenshots which highlight the core capabilities of the application. Some app owners will also include a video which showcases the app usage and features. An example of a traditional Google Play app listing is the Instagram app shown below –
Some app owners have adopted the approach of using the screenshots artwork as a billboard on which to add more text and highlighting – going significantly beyond a simple screenshot that is left to the user to interpret.
