Canadian Smartphone Penetration as of December 2013
Between 48% and 56% of the Canadian population own smartphones.
According to 2014 edition of comScore’s annual Digital Future in Focus report:
- 17 million Canadians own smartphones as of December 2013 (approximately 48% of the population)
- Apple had 37% share of Smartphone subscribers in Canada, versus 44% for Android. Apple grew 2% and Android grew 4% versus December 2012.
According to a Google Canada report published in May 2013, Smartphone penetration has risen to 56% of the population and these smartphone owners are becoming increasingly reliant on their devices. 66% access the Internet every day on their smartphone and most never leave home without it.
